No Other Way 03:47
She came in through the open window Robbed my memory from the kitchen drawer She said I’m just another mind to break into There’s no need to sneak around, there was always an open door She knows no other way (x4) She thinks my heart is the outside of a prison cell She can’t fit through the bars; she’s just digging a hole in the wall of this place There’s no judge to hear her trial She only plays the angel when she falls from grace She knows no other way (x4) You could run away, you could run away But you’ll never be alone like that again

Rain is falling on my head, madness calling me Sanity’s leaving me for dead and I’m lost at sea I still can’t swim; I’m pinned under the wreck This carnivorous desert island has its teeth sunk in my neck Tried to break the fourth wall on your stage but I’m out of practice Tried to break out of your cage but I just can’ hack this One day you’ll understand So take me away on a road less travelled And I’ll run away into the sunset Or leave me right where I am and I’ll battle on Where you going my friend, we’re not done yet… Not done yet Gun to my head, I’d say I’m not proud Of what we’ve achieved this time around There’s an ace in your hand you can’t play right now The traffic and the sirens keep us awake with the same old sound Tried to break the chains on my ankles but I don’t have the strength to cut steel Picking your brains for examples only to find you’re not real One day you’ll understand So take me away on a road less travelled And I’ll run away into the sunset Or leave me right where I am and I’ll battle on Where you going my friend, we’re not done yet… Not done yet I close my eyes but I can’t sleep Something’s telling me that I’m in too deep Been talking out the wrong side of my face Let’s turn it around before we fail this place One day you’ll understand… One day you’ll understand So take me away on a road less travelled And I’ll run away into the sunset Or leave me right where I am and I’ll battle on Where you going my friend, we’re not done yet… Not done yet

Drive 03:14
She said it’s snowing outside so go on and scrape the ice off the car This place is making me sad, the worst feeling I’ve had since I packed it all in to work in a bar So let’s hit the road and be selfish for a weekend Cos I’m stressed out and it’s driving me round the bend There’s miles to hide, there’s a world outside so let’s go out and live a little The speedo’s at ninety-five, are you feeling alive Baby let’s break the bank, stick a tenner in the tank and… Drive. Just drive. There’s a bar in my town, does a whiskey for a pound The ashtray’s on the table by twelve Look to the till, no reaction. The only course of action is to pull the tap and serve yourself So let’s hit the beer we won’t be sober ‘til two days after She said, “What the hell, go hard or go home” There’s miles to hide, there’s a world outside so let’s go out and live a little The speedo’s at ninety-five, are you feeling alive Baby let’s break the bank, stick a tenner in the tank and… Drive. Just drive. We’re wild things, let’s go where the wild things are There’s rolling hills and cheap thrills and nobody knows who we are We don’t have to drive too far There’s miles to hide, there’s a world outside so let’s go out and live a little The speedo’s at ninety-five, are you feeling alive Baby let’s break the bank, stick a tenner in the tank and… Drive. Just drive.

5am 03:42
Times of living easy, times of living hard, times of living just enough to stay on the track Days of being lazy days of working my fingers to the bone, days of watching my back It's only ever 5am round here Yeah it's only ever 5am We'll never be afraid again round here No we'll never be afraid again Locked down in ghost town We'll have a party when it's over and done Lost my my keys to the quarantine club And we're dodging a smoking gun Been stuck indoors for days upon days today Just the phase of all phases Deep breath, lick your wounds and bandage up your grazes It's only ever 5am round here Yeah it's only ever 5am We'll never be afraid again round here No we'll never be afraid again Jump out of bed, coffee Stick the telly on Going mad seeing red, sorry Sound mind's long gone Taking pictures of ourselves to send to friends, prove that we're still alive Stay indoors, don't go outside Don't go outside It's only ever 5am round here Yeah it's only ever 5am We'll never be afraid again round here No we'll never be afraid again Call 11... 01... whatever Might never see you again but we'll stay in touch Stay away from me can we stick together Leave me alone but be my crutch It's only ever 5am round here Yeah it's only ever 5am We'll never be afraid again round here No we'll never be afraid again

Crystal 04:07
I walk the five miles home; the essence of this costume party follows me I have to keep my mask on for the abandonment of social graces You’ll never recognise my face again I just came to see your show like you once came to see mine She’s dancing in the shadows of this neon lit up bar Her name is up in lights spoken through the speakers by a man who doesn’t even know it He says her name is Crystal Welcome Crystal to the stage Welcome Crystal It’s full with foreign businessmen The image of a Rolex watch attached to soft white collared wrists Reflected in the pole Who paid for your front-row seats? You’re close enough to touch her feet She’s balanced in the air; descending, slowly back in time she goes to… Violent close encounters with her family Her stepfather’s clients are her workplace clienteles Legal tax evaders, compulsive gamblers, insurance innovators Sitting at her mercy knowing that she won’t wish them well He says her name is Crystal Welcome Crystal to the stage Welcome Crystal She makes her last bow in mid-air, clinging on for dear life upside down Making her Hail Mary pass for tips, she hands the bosses hat around I put in sixteen dollars, I don’t know if she keeps them or if they’re taken from her, but it makes me feel righteous and justified Her beauty knows no bounds With effortless grace she leaves the stage and the man says… Give it up for Crystal That was Crystal on the stage Give it up for Crystal

Madness 03:06
She looks at me through bloodshot eyes I can’t convince her that the war is over, war is over You don’t have to run no more You told her a thousand lies Now she’s stuck here crying on my shoulder, on my shoulder You don’t have to cry no more He’s gone and he ain’t coming back You’ll give yourself a heart attack Don’t worry, don’t think Just step back from the brink of… Madness Now I can’t fix your broken heart But that bottle won’t provide the answer, provide the answer You don’t have to drown your pain You can’t take your cigarettes and vodka with you when you meet your maker, meet your maker Inebriation won’t keep you sane He’s gone and he ain’t coming back You’ll give yourself a heart attack Don’t panic, don’t fret You ain’t met your soul mate yet Don’t give in to Madness Just calm down darling take your time Everything will work out fine Stick to cheap scratch cards and wine We all need vices from time to time You’ve got your worries, I got mine He’s gone and he ain’t coming back You’ll give yourself a heart attack Don’t worry, time heals You’re stronger than the way you feel, don’t… Don’t worry, don’t think Just step back from the brink and Don’t panic, don’t fret You ain’t met your soul mate yet, don’t… Don’t succumb to Madness

Hero 03:37
She’s waiting for her hero The one who promised but never arrived She wanders aimless through the metropolis struggling to survive She’s drowning in a sea of pretentious fools Useless hypocrites using false tongues as tools Quoting Einstein in their Starbucks coffee cups just for fun Making eye contact, he leans and whispers, “Darling, what’s wrong?” Don’t break your concentration, go back to your laptop screen I don’t want your pity. Please, I’m begging, let me be She’s got a knitted scarf that her mother made her when she was ten Weather’s reckless but she has no protection from the rain She wears no makeup but non-existent mascara still streams down her face She’s just drifting round from hopeless place to hopeless place They don’t give a damn The people passing by just bump and bruise her shoulder She takes the busy train in silence. The atmosphere keeps on getting colder Quoting Shakespeare in graffiti on the wall Passing pseudo intellect, she knows that she stands tall among the city folk who play the kings and queens looking down on all creation. Evil rules the nation of this town. She’s consumed by fits of laughter laced with rage Moving cocktail bar to bistro, desperate to escape this cage Looking over every bridge, she tries to will herself to dive Overcome, her restless tormented soul is still alive She’s waiting for her hero Waiting for her hero still The one who promised but never arrived She’s struggling to survive

I’d like to say this makes me happy but I’m just not in the mood for fun and games, I’m feeling crappy and it’s not the way I planned But please don’t judge me, at the risk of being rude, I’m just the same as normal but I just can’t stand this They tell me age is just a state of mind I thought by now I’d feel a little more alive They tell me age is just a state of mind, oh my Didn’t think I’d be like this at twenty-five My friends are at the bar and we’re still waiting for a car to pick us up and take us dancing through the night I’m struggling with money and you may well find it funny but I’m pretty sure we’ll end up in a fight These girls are drunk again but not half as pissed as the men, I’ve been at work since nine and I just can’t be arsed with this farce So please don’t get me involved, the only way our problem’s solved is to go home and sleep it off; it’ll see you right They tell me age is just a state of mind I thought by now I’d feel a little more alive They tell me age is just a state of mind, oh my Didn’t think I’d be like this at twenty-five Making a scene seems to be your dream so take one for the team tonight my friend and keep it clean You diagnosed yourself bipolar. Double Jack Daniels’ and cola running rings around your veins and pounding sugar through your brains You split up with your cheating feller, rang the other girl to tell her that she’s a bitch and stole your man and now she’s begging for your blood But she didn’t know it either and you say you don’t believe her. Come on, trust me, girl, it won’t do any good They tell me age is just a state of mind I thought by now I’d feel a little more alive They tell me age is just a state of mind, oh my Didn’t think I’d be like this at twenty-five

Diesel 03:30
He’s a diesel engine fuelled on lager, cider and black Sailed the world with his boys and reckons one day he won’t come back Pulls a pack of his rolling rizzlas, ready, raving and wrecked Gonna paint the town with his colours and you know just what to expect It starts with darts in the local. Best be shielding your eyes Now he starts to get vocal speaking the truth shrink-wrapped in lies Pints are flowing like water, cigarettes behind ears Fathers, lock up your daughters, it’ll surely end up in tears No need for intervention, we don’t get much on TV It’s the closest thing to Geordie Shore that I think we’ll ever see No need to chuck him out the bar, we don’t read magazines And it’s the closest thing to a glossy photo that we’ve ever seen He says, “I know that you like it, I’ve seen the way that you stare! If you want you, just say so!” she says, “Sweetheart, I can’t even pretend to care! Just calm it down on the whiskey, don’t put nothing more up your nose I’ll smack you right in your temple before you get me out of these clothes” He’s banging on about Thatcher and her virtues people can’t see Mate, this here’s a mining town! You’re barking up the wrong tree Tries to tell me he’s alright. Likes to think that he’s cool Whereas anyone who spends a minute with him knows that he’s a sad excuse for a tool No need for intervention, we don’t get much on TV It’s the closest thing to Geordie Shore that I think we’ll ever see No need to chuck him out the bar, we don’t read magazines And it’s the closest thing to a glossy photo that we’ve ever seen Barmaid says, “I think you’ve had a drop too much, love. Better call it a night Should maybe ring you a taxi ‘cos it’s clocking on for daylight. We’ve all got homes to go to. You got nowhere else you can be?” He says, “I’m the king of this fucking town and you’ll never get rid of me!” Blows his smoke up the chimney, makes himself look tough Up stands a local farmhand and you can see he’s had enough Takes his cigarette off him and says, “Thanks for saving me draw.” Clenched a fist in his fighting hand and sparked him out on the floor No need for intervention, we don’t get much on TV It’s the closest thing to Geordie Shore that I think we’ll ever see No need to chuck him out the bar, we don’t read magazines And it’s the closest thing to a glossy photo that we’ve ever seen
